just really tired.
I’m currently working on the Stitch Diva Art Nouveau poncho although I have a horrible feeling that I’ve twisted the cast on. I’m not sure what to do about this – cut it and overcast the hem in a sparkly type thread? Or start again?
Not sure if the former would work because the stitch work is quite open and lacey. Not sure if I have the patience to do the latter. 🙁
Still no email access. I’m not sure if it’s a problem with my mail server or the email program – Mozilla Thunderbird – that I use. Like the Mozilla browser, it’s not very patient if it doesn’t get an immediate response from a server.
I was able to pick up a couple of messages on my phone but I don’t have all of them. I’ll have to check again with my hosting service although things seem to be ok with them.
Socks – I’ve nearly finished picking up stitches from the heel flap on the second sock. This weekend we’ll be travelling to London on the train so I’ll be able to get some more knitting done then.
I’m back! I spent two days at The Royal Welsh Show where I saw many animals including pigs – had no idea just how enormous they could be! – , horses, ponies, dogs, chicks, otters and of course sheep. I also saw some sheep being sheared in a contest.
Just my luck, after I apologise for not having emailed people I get back and discover that I can’t access ANY of my emails! That’s a pain.
I didn’t do as much knitting as I thought I might. I’ve got as far as turning the heel on my second Las Vagas sock but that’s it. Have been too tired to do any more.
I have this Friday off and am not sure yet what I’m going to do. I may spend the day sewing a top to wear to a friend’s wedding reception in London on Saturday. Or I may try and sew most of the top before Friday so that I have more time Friday for relaxing!
Whether that will happen though I’m not sure, because I had an accident in my craft room last week. One of my bookshelves fell down taking all of my sewing books, and some tubs with things like embroidery hoops in them, down onto a table and the floor. Aside from some lovely paper with dragonflies on it that I was keeping flat in one of the books, everything is ok. But it does mean that I’ll have some tidying up, or more realistically I’ll just move stuff around!, in order to create space to sew.
I have to get into the sewing mood again because Andy’s fortieth birthday is in September and I’ve promised to finally make a dark green velvet frock coat, that I was supposed to have made two or three years ago, for him.
Tonight though I’m just going to chill out on the sofa. Far too tired after two busy days.
I want to start off with an apology because I owe emails left, right and centre. So if you haven’t heard back from me for a while – in some cases a couple of months! – I’m really sorry. As usual there aren’t enough hours in the day for me, but even if you haven’t heard from me in a while I am thinking of you.
I’m off to work on more outside broadcasts in a couple of hours so will be away fro a few days. The broadcasts are from an agricultural show so I’ll be able to see plenty of sheep, possibly some yarn – it’s certainly not the Mayland Sheep and Wool Festival so I’m not expecting much! and also spinning. I don’t know when the spinning is happening or where in the show it is but I will try and check it out.
Knitting wise I’m working on my Las Vegas Brights socks. They are very bright, thanks again to Theresa who picked up the yarn for one of our swaps from Threadbear.
They’re very bright but I do love them. I will post a picture soon. I loved Lynn H’s story about wearing the colours you love. Thanks for that Lynn!
I’m back from my business trip – working on outside broadcasts for two days – and am shattered! I’m so exhausted.
Today was pretty bad because it was cold, raining and muddy. It was really vile and horrible working in that. We had a long drive home and although we left at about 2.30pm I didn’t arrive at my house until 7pm. So tired now.
I’m on the cuff of my sock and am ready to start the ribbing but can’t find my 2mm needles for that. I have a few too many sock projects perhaps! 🙂
You have one ball of Art Fibers Chai, a handpainted thick and thin Tussah Silk – what do you do with it? Some sort of scarf? But what?
Today is the twelfth anniversary of my first date with Andy! We went out for a Japanese meal to celebrate. I’m working on a shirt for his present but he got me a talking Doctor Who with his robot dog K9. Ah yes, the man knows me! 🙂
I have to go away for a few days because of work. I’m sure that it’ll be fine but I’m not looking forward to being away from my home comforts. Travelling because of work is not like going on holiday 🙁
As well as Andy and the cats I’ll also miss my yarn. I’m itching to start knitting some of the lovely stuff I bought from Lynn H. But that will have to wait because I’m taking the sock I started knitting in Paris. I’m just working on the gusset of it now so it’s at the halfway mark. I’m not too sure how much I like the sock though.
I’ll try and moblog but as usual won’t know if it works until I get back home.
I’ve just seen that new issue of Knitty is up! It’s the sex issue so it’s not for everyone. Some interesting knitted lingerie there but I haven’t time to have a good look at the designs yet – have to go to work 🙁
My only immediate complaint is that a tampon holder is featured. I have no problem with tampon holders but I don’t see anything sexy or naughty about tampons. They’re just a fact of life. I don’t see why they can’t appear in any issue. I know that others will feel differently but it’s just my two cents…
