New Year, More Yarn!

The New year hasn’t got off to a great start. Weatherwise it’s been very wet and me-wise I’ve got a stomach bug. Took today off work because it was so bad. I’m hoping I’ll feel better in the morning but it hasn’t eased up yet.

Xmas knitting – I made several scarves, two pendants, a pair of socks and a pair of mittens – kept me away from blogging but here is the contents of Wendy’s parcel!

From left to right – Karabella Puffy in Blue/Purple mix, Manos del Uruguay in colour 38 – an incredible purple, two skeins of Lorna’s laces in Fresh stripe a gorgeous mix of turquoise and purple and Katia Ingenua mohair mix in Purple (sensing a theme here yet?!). Wendy certainly knows what my favourite colour is! The yarns are wonderful and I haven’t quite decided what I’m going to knit up from them. I think the Manos would make a great Bucket hat while the Lornas will become either gloves or socks or both if I can squeeze them out. For the moment I’m just happy to look at these yarny treasures!

Wendy also sent me another Denise cable and these fab Wonder Woman coasters!

I was so happy to get these because I’d been planning on buying a set.

I also got some yarny Xmas gifts!

From Becky two skeins of Crystal Palace Musique in shade 9132!

It’s a lovely squishy yarn that will make a lovely squishy scarf.

and from my friend Mel, who’s currently living in Tokyo, some Japanese yarn!

From left to right – a purple mix thick and thin wool, pale green and pale blue mohair (I think) and a multi coloured mohair mix yarn. I’m assuming that the chunky yarn is wool but the label info is all in Japanese except for a "100% " near what I imagine to be the symbol for the yarn content. The other labels are also all in Japanese.  When I think of Japanese yarn I tend to think of Noro and Diakeito so it was interesting to see other brands. Thanks Mel!
