because the shoulder injury was, according to my doctor, a red herring. On the Sunday I found the pain, which had already affected both of my arms and hands, was affecting my legs too. I woke up on Monday morning and found that I couldn’t move my arms or legs because I was in such pain. That was really frightening. <\/p>\n
I had to force myself to try and move my limbs and little by little I could move them a bit more and try and think through the pain. Andy had to help me sit up and see if I could stand. I had a little mobility but it was more of the hobbling around kind and it was very painful to use stairs. <\/p>\n

Resting didn’t help because as soon as I lay down I found that I
\ncouldn’t move my limbs again. Somehow Andy managed to get me down to
\nthe doctors who prescribed strong painkillers, which didn’t help, and
\nordered blood tests. The doctor told me that sometimes these things
\nhappen and we don’t understand why, which didn’t help much but what
\nmore could she say.\n<\/p>\n
This continued until Thursday when I woke up to find that my legs
\nweren’t as painful as they’d been before and I could move them more.
\nFriday came and my arms also felt a bit better. We went back to the
\ndoctors and surgery and a different doctor told me that the blood work
\nhad shown rates of inflammation which were off the scale. The test for
\narthritis came back negative. Whew! <\/p>\n
They’re hoping it’s a virus, and so am I because that will mean I’m
\nover the worst of it and it won’t come back, but I need more blood
\ntests done.<\/p>\n
I’m off work for another two weeks to recover. I can get around but
\nI can’t really use my right arm as it tires easily and I’ve still got
\nvarious dull aches everywhere. I’m very tired and run down but
\nhopefully I’m on the mend. Andy has been fantastic. I couldn’t have got
\nthrough this without his love and support. <\/p>\n
As for the stomach things, the pain killers made me constipated
\nwhich complicated that.So I don’t know what’s going on with my stomach
\nat the mo. Oh and my arms aren’t well enough for knitting which sucks big time!<\/p>\n
