I Have The Greatest Friends!

I always call Andy on my way home from work to see if he’s arrived home yet because we work different hours. It’s also a routine of mine to ask if there’s been any post. This afternoon he said “Yes, there a few things including a squishy package that looks like yarn.”! All the way home I wondered what it could be because I wasn’t expecting anything. Imagine my surprise and delight to open it and find this

Two balls of Diadomina by Diakeito in shade 312! A present from Theresa! It’s 50% wool, 21% mohair and 29% nylon. It’s like some of the Noro yarns in that’s it’s self striping but it’s very different from the Noro yarns that I’ve used. The mohair adds a certain luminosity to the colours in the yarn.

Thanks Theresa! What a fab surprise!

I’m not sure yet what to make from this. My first instinct is a scarf or something else small but I also like the idea of including it in a larger garment like a cardi or poncho with a co-ordinating solid yarn.

Included in the parcel was a note on this wonderful lemming paper!

Look very closely to the right and you’ll see a lemming who’s more into self preservation than the others!
