So last week I posted that I intended to garden for at least an hour every night. I did that and I got a lot done. Planted some potatoes in a bag – in this case they’re in two rubble bags – ala Grainy’s Garden and Monty Don
sown my own living salad in a windowbox – I used some mixed salad seeds so there’s lettuce, rocket and a red lettuce in there and I popped in some spinach too.
My strawberry cat is full of pink flowered strawberries
and one of my Giant Pansy seeds has finally germinated. I love pansies so fingers crossed for this one. My sweet peas are slowly climbing up their wigwam
The downs of gardening are that I pulled something in my shoulder while weeding last week and it’s really painful. I’m taking some ibuprofen which is helping a bit but mostly I need to rest it.
I’m still knitting on Edinburgh Rock at lunchtimes and when I watch tv but I still have a way to go as I do with the Twitter Mystery Knit.
I’ve also been been doing techy makes – I’ve replaced my iMac with a pc that I’ve set to dual boot Ubuntu Linux and Windows and a gorgeously thin aluminum monitor. I’m also now the proud owner of a Raspberry Pi
– this is a a remarkable small, cheap computer primarily aimed at being an affordable way to get children interested in computer science. I’m running Debian Squeeze linux on it at the moment and will be using it to learn some code myself. 🙂
wow, me and Monty Don in the same sentence, what an honour!
